Heo Ho, CEO of 'Heosi Silk Textile', a local root company in Hamchang-eup, Sangju-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do, donated the entire amount of 10 million won for the Korean Culture and Arts Award to the Kodong-Ram Scholarship Society on the 25th.


The 'Korea Culture and Arts Award' is an award (presidential commendation) given every year to those who have made outstanding achievements in promoting culture and arts by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism since 1969.



CEO Heo Ho was recognized for his contribution to tourism and industrialization of his traditional silk weaving, grafting it with art, and widely publicizing it at home and abroad, and was awarded in the 'Cultural General Category'.


Hamchang-eup has been producing traditional silk fabric with silkworm cocoon thread for over 40 years, and holds 9 patents and 2 utility models related to silk weaving and natural dyeing of persimmon.


In 2013, Gyeongsangbuk-do Best Artisan, 2019 Gyeongbuk Native Root Company, and selected as an excellent skilled technician (textile processing field), etc.
